Editorial Coordinator & Senior Copywriter
MENDO
mar '16 - jan ‘20

Next to my freelance work, I contributed texts and photos for photo books that are initiated and designed by MENDO and published by Terra Lannoo and German publisher teNeues. We have worked together on several projects, like 'Starring Amsterdam', 'Carli Hermès - Three decades of uncompromising photography', 'Living in Style: Amsterdam', 'Sportret', 'The Workshop' and 'Depart'. For most of the named books, I was responsible for all of the accompanying (English and Dutch) texts, including forewords, captions and the blurb on the back cover. In 'Depart', there is one chapter that features photos I took on a trip to Israel, Jordan and Palestine.

Content Manager
Charlie's Travels
dec '17 - Sep '18

As (freelance) Content Manager of Charlie's Travels, I was responsible for all outgoing (audiovisual and textual) content. Based in Nairobi, the Dutch-Kenyan travel startup organizes custom made vacations to Eastern Africa. With a small, international and on-the-ground team of travel experts, 'CT' is the go-to company for unforgettable, off the beaten track trips to Eastern and Southern Africa.

In order to find out what the future has in store for news radio stations like NPO Radio 1, I experimented with new ways to distribute radio. One of those ways is creating a video stream on top of the regular audio feed so that radio consumers can enjoy the added value of video, created by a small team of eight video directors that I recruited and coached. I was also responsible for the online video division of NPO Radio 1, that makes stand alone web-only video's and fragmented visual radio snippets for our social platforms. In 2017, I was NPO's delegate at the South By Southwest convention, as I was involved with several NPO-wide online innovation projects.

Artfest used to be a spin-off of Literaturfest and is organised by Dutch online journalism platform De Correspondent. The show was recorded and broadcasted by Dutch broadcaster VPRO.  I've also worked on some other talkshows organized by De Correspondent, like 'The Festival of Progress' and 'The Big Privacy Experiment'.
